"TV Snowman" is my application comic to The Center for Cartoon Studies, a school for comic-book makers. The requirements for this comic were that it include myself, a robot, and a snowman--- I decided to combine the robot and snowman character into a single staticy television set. Inspired by vintage manga artists like Osamu Tezuka and Shinji Nagashima, I eschewed the computer and focused on traditional methods of comic-making. I used only ink, white-out, a paint brush, and screen toner. To print the comic, I used a rickety copy machine. The result is a 14-page comic printed with black ink on rainbow-speckled beige paper.
